1. Getting Started

What is Wellnify.ai?

Wellnify.ai is a wellness engagement app that helps you build healthier habits through daily movement, educational content, mindfulness activities, and challenges. You earn points (XP), track your progress, and engage with your community.

How do I download the app?

  1. Scan the QR code provided by your organization, or visit the link in your onboarding email.
  2. Create your account.
  3. Download Wellnify from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
  4. Sign in with the email and password you used to create your account.
  5. Enable notifications, camera, and motion/fitness access when prompted.
  6. Connect your steps through Apple Health (iPhone) or Google Health Connect (Android).

Privacy tip: We recommend choosing a username that does not include your full name, email address, or other personal details.

Why can't I download the app on my device?

Wellnify requires a reasonably recent phone to support features like activity tracking and camera based activities:

  • iPhone: iOS 17 or newer
  • Android: Android 13 or newer

If your phone does not meet these requirements, contact support and we will help you find an option.

Why is the app taking a long time to download?

Download speed depends on your internet connection. Wellnify includes interactive features that make it larger than some other apps, so it may take a few minutes.

Does the app use wifi or my mobile data?

Either. Wellnify works over wifi or your mobile data connection. If you are watching video content or using camera based activities, we recommend connecting to wifi where possible.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Tap Forgot Password on the login screen and follow the instructions sent to your email.

2. Daily Quest

What is the Daily Quest?

The Daily Quest is your daily wellness checklist. Each day gives you three activities to complete, one from each wellness pillar:

  • Mind: Educational or reflective wellness content
  • Body: A physical activity like a workout or walk
  • Spirit: A mindfulness moment or gratitude task

Complete all three to close your Daily Quest gauge.

Do I have to follow the Daily Quest exactly?

No. The Daily Quest is a suggestion, not a requirement. You are welcome to complete some items and skip others, or explore other content in the app instead. Any participation counts.

What happens if I miss a day?

Nothing is lost. The plan moves forward to the next day. You do not fall behind and you do not need to catch up.

Some items, like surveys or milestone activities, may carry over to the next day and keep appearing until they are completed.

3. Step Goals and Streaks

How do I set my step goal?

Open the app and go to the Steps section. Tap Step Goal in the top right corner. You have two options:

  • Set your own goal. Choose a daily step target that works for you and adjust it whenever you like.
  • Use AI Smart Step. The app reviews your last 14 days of activity and recalculates your goal every 7 days, so your target stays realistic as your activity changes.

You can track your step trends and view your progress weekly and monthly from this section.

What is the streak?

Your streak counts the number of days in a row you have met your step goal. It exists to reinforce the daily habit.

What happens to my streak if I miss a day?

Your streak resets to zero. That is the only thing that changes. Your XP stays, your badges stay, and your plan continues. Missed days are a normal part of building a habit.

4. Activity Tracking and Device Syncing

How does Wellnify track my activity?

Wellnify tracks activity through your phone or a supported wearable device using:

  • Apple Health for iPhone users
  • Google Health Connect for Android users

If your device syncs to one of these platforms, your activity can flow into Wellnify automatically. You can also log activities manually. Go to Daily Quest > Body > Add an Activity to choose from over 100 activity types.

Do I need a smartwatch or fitness tracker?

No. Your phone can track your steps on its own. As long as your phone is with you and connected to Apple Health or Google Health Connect, your steps will be recorded. A wearable is optional, but it can help if you do not always carry your phone.

Can I sync a device that is not made by Apple or Google?

Yes, as long as your device or app connects to Apple Health or Google Health Connect. Many popular wearables and fitness apps can sync through these platforms.

How do I connect my steps on Android?

  1. Install Google Health Connect from the Google Play Store.
  2. Open Wellnify and tap Steps > Enable Permission.
  3. Grant all permissions when prompted.
  4. Open Health Connect > App permissions and ensure both Wellnify and your device's default step counter (e.g. Samsung Health, Google Fit) are allowed to read steps.

Note: Android 13 allows installation of Health Connect but may not support pulling step data on all devices. You can still use the app, earn XP, and log workouts manually.

I use Fitbit. Will that sync?

While Fitbit can sync with Apple Health on an iPhone, the Fitbit step data is not shared with Apple Health in a way that allows Wellnify to receive it. As a result, Fitbit step counts cannot sync into Wellnify on iPhone at this time.

On Android, ensure Fitbit syncs with Google Fit, then sync Google Fit with Health Connect, then open Wellnify.

I don't always carry my phone. Will my steps still count?

If you are wearing a connected smartwatch or fitness tracker that syncs with Apple Health or Google Health Connect, your steps will still count even when your phone is not with you. Without your phone or a connected wearable, Wellnify cannot record those steps.

My steps aren't syncing. What should I do?

  • No steps appearing: Open Health Connect (Android) or Apple Health (iPhone) and check that permissions are toggled on for Wellnify and your step tracking app.
  • Can't find Health Connect: Your device may not support it fully. Android 13 supports installation but may block step syncing on some devices.
  • Still no steps: Reboot your device, open Health Connect or Apple Health, then open Wellnify. Contact support if unresolved.

5. XP, Levels, and Leaderboards

What does XP mean?

XP stands for Experience Points. You earn XP by completing activities anywhere in the app. XP recognizes participation and consistency. It does not measure your fitness level or performance, and it is not a health score.

How do I earn XP?

  • Completing Daily Quest items (+100 XP each)
  • Completing collections in the Explore section (+100 XP each)
  • Completing AR challenges (additional XP per rep)
  • Logging workouts manually (XP based on duration and type)
  • Hitting your daily step goal (+50 XP per 1,000 steps, plus 500 XP for reaching your goal)

What are levels?

As your total XP grows, you move up through levels. Levels are a simple way to see your participation add up over time.

How do I view the leaderboards?

Tap the Leaderboards icon on the bottom menu. You can toggle between Steps, XP, and Challenge leaderboards, and view rankings by week, month, all time, or custom date range.

XP also contributes to raffles and rewards in eligible challenges.

How do I find my badges?

Tap the Profile icon, then select Badges to see what you have earned.

6. Collections and Content

What are collections?

Collections are bundles of content organized under Mind, Body, and Spirit. A collection may contain one or multiple exercises, slides, or videos. Each collection earns 100 XP, and some include bonus XP from quizzes, surveys, or AR reps.

Collections appear in your Daily Quest, in the Explore section, and in friend challenges.

What is the Explore section?

Explore holds all of the activities and content in the app, organized by Mind, Body, and Spirit, so you can choose what interests you beyond your Daily Quest.

Tap Mind, Body, or Spirit, then scroll or use the search bar to find activities by keyword (e.g. Cardio, Yoga, HIIT). You can also use the Filter button to narrow by content type, category, or AR activities.

Do I earn XP in Explore?

Yes. Everything you complete in Explore earns XP and badges and counts toward your total XP and your level.

7. Camera Based (AR) Activities

What are AR activities?

Some activities use your phone's camera to count exercise repetitions, such as squats or high knees. This is called Augmented Reality, or AR. The camera counts your reps so you can focus on moving rather than keeping track.

How do I use an AR activity?

  1. Choose an activity that offers AR (found in your Daily Quest, the Body section in Explore, or the Friends challenge portal).
  2. Tap Start, then tap Launch with AR.
  3. Place your phone horizontally against a wall.
  4. Make sure your full body is visible in the frame.
  5. Position yourself sideways or forward facing based on the avatar orientation.
  6. Wait for the avatar to turn green and the audio prompt before you begin.

Some AR activities are rep based. Others are time based (30 to 60 seconds).

Do all activities use the camera?

No. Most activities do not use the camera. Activities that offer AR will clearly show a Launch with AR option, and using it is always your choice.

Why aren't all of my reps being counted?

For the best results:

  • Make sure the camera view is clear and well lit.
  • Make sure no one else is in the frame.
  • Position your phone so your full movement is visible.

AR works best when the camera can focus only on you.

Is my AR video recorded or stored?

No. Videos are not stored by the app. After an AR activity you may choose to save or share the video yourself. If you choose not to, the video is deleted from the app.

8. Friends and Challenges

How do I add a friend?

Go to the Friends section, tap Add Friends, search for the person's username, and send a request. The other person has to accept before you are connected.

You can only be found by your username, not by your real name.

Do I have to use the Friends feature?

No. Friends and challenges are entirely optional.

Can I challenge a friend?

Yes. Once a friend accepts your request, you can create friendly challenges between the two of you, including AR activities. AR challenges are great for head to head competitions.

What is the Challenges section?

The Challenges icon in the navigation bar shows leaderboards for any group challenges that are running. When no group challenge is active, this section may be empty. Friendly challenges with individual friends are set up in the Friends section instead.

9. Feed and Notifications

What is the Feed?

The Feed is where your organization and program administrators share updates, wellness tips, reminders, and community highlights.

Can I post in the Feed?

Posting in the Feed may be available depending on your organization's settings. Some communities allow participants to post photos, updates, and milestones. Keep it respectful and wellness themed.

Will I receive notifications?

Yes. You may receive push notifications for daily reminders, updates, and announcements shared in the Feed.

Can I turn notifications off?

Yes. You can turn notifications off at any time in your phone's settings or in the notification settings inside the app. Turning them off does not affect your participation.

10. AI Wellness Coach

What is the AI Wellness Coach?

The AI Wellness Coach is an optional chat feature on your home screen. You can ask it general questions about wellness topics such as staying active, sleep, stress, and building routines, and it will suggest content in the app that may help.

Can the Coach answer medical questions?

No. The Coach is a general wellness tool. It cannot see your health record, it does not know your medical history, and it is not a source of medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. For anything related to symptoms, medications, test results, or a health concern, contact your health care provider.

Important: Please do not share personal health information with the Coach. Avoid entering details such as diagnoses, symptoms, test results, medications, or health card numbers. Keep your questions general.

Is the Coach a real person?

No. It is an automated tool that generates responses using artificial intelligence. No one is reading or replying to your messages in real time. Like all AI tools, it can occasionally give answers that are incomplete or incorrect.

Do I have to use the Coach?

No. It is entirely optional and is not part of your Daily Quest.

11. Your Information and Privacy

Where is my information stored?

Your Wellnify account information and activity data are stored on servers located in Canada.

Who can see my activity?

Your individual activity, steps, streak, and survey responses are private. Any information shared with your organization for reporting purposes is de-identified and combined with other participants to show overall trends rather than any one person's data.

How do I delete my account?

Participation is voluntary and you may stop at any time. To have your account deleted, contact support using the address below.

12. Support and Troubleshooting

The app isn't loading or is acting unexpectedly.

Try closing and reopening the app, checking for an update in the App Store or Google Play, then restarting your device. If the problem continues, contact support.

My activity or points didn't update.

There is occasionally a short delay while data syncs. If your information still has not updated after you close and reopen the app, contact support.

I got a new phone. What do I do?

Download Wellnify on your new phone and sign in with the same email and password. Your account, XP, badges, and progress will follow you. You will need to reconnect Apple Health or Google Health Connect on the new device.
